Team Manager for interpreter order management system
Job Description
Evantia Ltd. is a Finnish company specialized in advanced booking services for clients with special needs. Our in-house order management system is used widely in the sign language interpretation field in Finland and in Sweden to manage interpretation orders and related functions like statistics and invoices.
We are looking for a Team Manager to build and take charge of the team responsible for developing the order management system. The team maintains the product and develops solutions for current and future customers.
The team manager leads the development team and pilots the development and related projects. The manager will handle and prioritize bug reports and feature requests issued by customers.
The team manager has a high degree of independence in managing their own and their team's workflow, and guiding the direction of the company's software department.
Skills & Requirements
The job involves mainly leadership and project managing so the selected person must have a high sense of responsibility and the drive to both maintain and move forward a high-quality product they and their team can be proud of.
The manager must be technically proficient enough to both participate in finding solutions to technical issues and review other team members' code. More importantly the manager must be a person who enjoys working in a social environment as a team member and interact with customers and partners.
Technical requirements:
Software development team managing and leadership experiencePractical experience in Scrum and source code managementProficiency in PHP and in at least one MVC frameworkBasic understanding of database managementGood language skills in Finnish and English
Bonus points if you have:
Experience in CakePHP, MySQL and Git specificallyExperience in test-driven developmentProficiency in JavaScript and/or jQueryLanguage skills in Swedish
About Evantia Ltd
Evantia is a private company that manages the nation-wide sign language interpretation coordination services provided by Kela. It is owned by Health Fund Ltd (Terveysrahasto) and Eteva Joint Municipality. Evantia itself owns two interpreter companies.
The company has two main departments: the coordination department and software development department. The software development department is responsible for the order management system for internal and external users.
