Finnair's cargo business unit is formed by two Finnair Group subsidiaries, Finnair Cargo Oy and Finnair Cargo Terminal Operations Oy. Following Finnair Group's Asia strategy, our goal is to be the Cargo carrier of choice for the Nordic Silk Road and being ranked as one of TOP 5 preferred cargo carriers between Europe and Northeast Asia.
Finnair Cargo transports over 140 MKg of air freight annually mainly in the hold of wide-body passenger aircrafts. Helsinki has become an important hub with the majority of cargo from Asia continuing to various European destinations via Helsinki. To expand its home market, Finnair Cargo just recently opened its second base in Brussels, Belgium.
We are now looking for a capable
MANAGER, ROAD FEEDER SERVICES
to strengthen our Revenue & Network Management team.
In this role you are expected to deliver Finnair Cargo with an efficient Road Feeder Services (RFS) network. The Manager, Road Feeder Services has ownership of the production platform: performance and costs.
Manager, Road Feeder Services (RFS) is expected to
- Build and manage the RFS network to connect present and potential customers to the Finnair Cargo network
- Manage the RFS schedules and the schedule distribution
- Act as an internal expert and a process owner on all the RFS related matters
- Have an overall responsibility of RFS pricing and costs - from analysis of trucking lane performance to checking all the RFS invoices
- Have Vendor Management responsibility for approximately ten RFS companies across Europe
- The ideal candidate should enjoy a challenging and independent role and have a solutions-driven and result oriented, analytical mindset. Road - Feeder Services are a vital part of the Finnair Cargo network with approximately 44 million transported kilos of freight annually.
The position is part of the Revenue Management & Network organization within Finnair Cargo, working closely with various colleagues in operative departments. Manager, Road Feeder Services has one direct report, located in Sweden and he/she will report to Director, Revenue & Network Management.
Our expectations from you:
- M. Sc. or B. Sc. degree from a suitable field of study
- Previous working experience in at least two of the following areas:
o Freight forwarding
o Operations control (Road/Air/Rail/Sea)
o Cost/Revenue analysis
- Good knowledge of geography
- Accuracy with numbers
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Fluency in English
- Ability and willingness to work in a team and under pressure
The following competences are considered as an advantage:
- Knowledge of guidelines and regulations set for air cargo shipments
- System or process development skills
- Language skills: Scandinavian languages, German
- Understanding on JAR-OPS1, IOSA, OMA, STM, CHM, SEM, IATA DGR, IATA LAR, TACT
